Our Vision
The research is clear. Dialogic teaching accelerates progress. Oracy develops thinking. Structured classroom talk narrows the attainment gap — particularly for disadvantaged students who benefit most from being given the language, confidence, and opportunity to reason aloud. Yet too often, this research stays in journals and conference papers, never reaching the classrooms where it is needed most.
The problem is not a lack of evidence — it is the gap between knowing what works and being able to implement it.
Translating decades of educational science into daily classroom practice requires a unique combination of skills: deep knowledge of the research itself, the pedagogical expertise to turn theory into lesson design, and the technical capability to build tools that deliver it consistently at scale. These are specialist disciplines — and expecting classroom teachers to master all three on top of the job they already do is neither realistic nor fair.
EVA was built to remove that barrier. Our vision is to take the best that the science of education has made possible and put it directly into the hands of teachers — not as theory to interpret, but as ready-to-teach lessons, embedded training, and tools that make expert practice achievable from day one. The research is already done. The design is already built. Teachers can walk into their classroom and teach it tomorrow.
But this is not a script. EVA gives teachers a foundation grounded in what the evidence says works — and the flexibility to make it their own. Adapt it to their students, their context, their professional judgement. The best teaching has always been a blend of science and professional knowledge, and EVA is designed to support both.
Raising standards starts with how students are taught to think, not just what they are taught to remember.
Improving the lives of teachers means giving them resources that genuinely work — not more workload dressed up as support.
Oracy is not just an academic skill – it is the foundation of the communication, critical thinking and collaboration that define success in the 21st Century. The communities who stand to gain the most are those where it can make the most difference.
That is what drives every decision we make.
